A mandala looks like a symbol with a repeating pattern. I created this mandala using a circular template with guide lines. I got the template and used the magic wand and dragged it to the image I took. I got a certain spot I wanted and I copied that spot pressing command c and copied it with command v to the template. From there I rotated it to match the template. I duplicated the layer I transformed it horizontal and dragged it and rotated it to match the other template below. I merged those to layers and duplicated those layers. Then i flipped them horizontal and put it together with the other piece. I threw away the first layer and merged the two layers i was working on. After I duplicated those layers and i transformed it vertical and put it together and I merged the layers. Before i merge all the layers i check to see if the parts are of so i use the arrow keys if there is empty spots to put them together. My favorite image is the second one because it has a lot of different patterns and it seems like it has more color. I feel like I didn't struggle as much and if i could do this all over again I would make the background more interesting or duplicate the layers to make it smaller and smaller each time.
Tessellations are a repeating pattern with one photograph. I created the tessellations by cropping my image to a certain spot and i used guide lines to help me line all the images up and I also had to transform the image to make the patterns after i merged all the images together and i edited them with color balance. What i liked about this is that they look like interesting wall papers. My favorite image was the second and third one. I didn't really struggle with anything. If i had to do it over again I would capture more pictures of interesting objects to make a more interesting pattern.
