David Hockey was born July 9, 1937. One of his quotes are "The moment you cheat for the sake of beauty, you know you're an artist." He is an English painter, draughtsman, print maker, stage designer and photographer. He sees synesthetic colors in response to musical stimuli. He painted different portraits at different periods in his career.
I created his artwork with rules of third. I took different shots of the same subjects with different angles. I would also change the shots to different exposures. I used photoshop to transform the different images to make the image as one puzzle.

I chose the magazine Glamour because it boosts self esteem to women. What I did to emulate the magazine cover style is get their logo for the title and I put texts that would help a women feel confident about themselves with products, tips and secret beauty tips. I used the font colors red, nudeish pink, black and a violet pink/purple so the magazine can look a little girly. The set up was a gay background with the light of a calumet nova 32 and a reflector. To get the shot the camera was vertical. A strobe light is to produce a flash of light. You connect it to the camera so when you take a shot the light flashes and makes the picture bright and identifies the face. A modeling light helps is a continues light. A soft box helps create light on the subject. A reflector creates light on a certain direction. You use it to define the body and face more.
The title of this image is HDR (high dynamic range) Framing. This image was taken at the Duck Pond near Rancho Buena Vista High School. The compositional rule for this photograph is framing. The camera used was a Nixon D5300 with 18-140 mm lens.
I used multiple shots of the same picture and angle. I used a tripod to hold the camera still. I took five of the same pictures with different exposures each. After I used photoshop to merge them together. I saturated and removed any ghost on the photograph to complete the process. My photograph was printed on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. |
